The Centre de recherche interuniversitaire sur la formation et la profession enseignante [interuniversity research center on teacher training and the teaching profession](CRIFPE) has grown rapidly since its inception in 1993. Today, in terms of number of staff, productivity, and provincial, national, and international outreach, it is the leading Canadian research center in the field of education and the teaching profession.

CRIFPE is the only research center in Québec and in Canada that devotes its efforts exclusively to research on education and on the teaching profession.. CRIFPE, an interuniversity, multidisciplinary center encompasses 787 affiliated members: over 100 researchers, 50 international researchers, over 600 research students, as well as teams of professionals, technicians, administrative staff, and webmasters. CRIFPE’s full time, associate, and international researchers come from 32 universities, and mainly work in the social sciences and humanities which are applied to research on education.
